“Likewise Malcorra belongs to a generation of most capable Argentine women diplomats and negotiators such as Susana Ruiz Cerruti, Elsa Kelly and Beatriz Nofal,”

The omission of Alicia Castro from this list speaks volumes.

Journalist from the Malvinas Times: What in your opinion was your greatest contribution to the role of Ambassador to the Court of St James?

Castro: I helped the British economy by spending a lot of my people's money in London. I also made it virtually impossible that the Falklands will ever be Argentine , by managing to be worse than my fictitious counterpart Sir Lesley Patterson. But that is somebody else's fault. We can take pride in forging a great friendship with Wales and as Marti has pointed out, the word Malvinas is derived from the Welsh name that pre dated St Malo. This proves the Malvinas are British.

Journalist: What will you do back in our glorious motherland?

Castro: I'm seeking political asylum in Wales! Have you forgotten Nisman?

So where was Malcorra advice to CFK when she was attacking the Falkland's verbally,

did she inform CFK with her expertise that the islands were British,
or do I have it wrong..

I seem to recall that it was information from Virginia Gamba-Stonehouse (as she was then) that put Lawrence Freedman in the awkward position of having to defend his official work against criticism from Pascoe & Pepper.

I am actually quite impressed that Freedman wrote that qualifying piece that indeed, must have given him no pleasure.
