What is it with the clowns 'running' the public health in SA?
They never seem to be on the same page as the mosquito.
It's NOT difficult to deal with this problem but treatment HAS to take place BEFORE the mozzies hatch FFS!
Yes, it costs a bit of money but I can tell you that in Uruguay many people don't believe the mozzies are a problem.
Even when my wife was hospitalised with her right arm twice the size of normal due to five clearly visible bites they didn't believe the mozzies had caused it.
The Aedes mosquitos which spread Dengue are very difficult to exterminate, unlike e.g. the malaria spreading Anopheles mosquitos.
To totally get rid of the Aedes mosquitos, you need to evaporate all water in the country, as they can breed in the screw cap of a beverage bottle.
I remember some 8 or years ago, when Paraguay tried to eradicate their Aedes mosquitos. Soldiers covered the country side and poured kerosene into any kind of container they could find - to no avail.
