    “I hope the Argentines don't get angry about what I'm saying because it is not intelligent to get angry” So that means they will get angry then.

    At least this guy is prepared to stick his head above the parapet, unlike the cowards of the Broad Fraud.

    Can't see the 'air bridge' happening whilst the likes of Mujica and his harridan wife are still around and making trouble for the British.

    Well spoken words from a pragmatist, recognising the opportunities emanating from the realities of a developing Falklands economy, which necesssarily requires other transportation tools within its arsenal. Uruguay, a long-term ally, of the Falklands, save for some silly Arg nonsence which Mr Mujica was not able to steer a way through, seeks a modern renewal of its previous supportive involvement in the Falklands economy. Great news Mr Calle, and thank you for being bold and reaffirming the connection opportunities.

    “I hope the Argentines don't get angry about what I'm saying because it is not intelligent to get angry”

    - It's time to ignore the argentos' stomping their feet and holding their breath and all that other characteristically childish behaviour, and time to start doing the right things.

    Let's see the positive thing of this.

    At least FI won't have to fly over argentine air space to be linked.

    It is funny how more and more of the Countries in South America are turning away from Left Wing Dictatorships.
    At the same time they feel the policy of supporting Argentina is not viable.
    Anyone want to predict how long before a democratically elected government in South America will openly side with the People of the Falkland Islands. Certainly less than 25 years.

  • Dont mess with the British

    Time is now running out for Argentina, they can on board with the rest of the world on the issue of the Falklands or Argentina can die a slow painful death. Once the sub committee that they run to every year is disbanded and believe me there are moves afoot to get rid of a over expensive committee that actually does nothing, then Argentina will have nowhere else to run to except of course the courts which we all know they dare not go anywhere near on the issue of the islands. Uruguay' is stealing a march on its bullying neighbours, they can see the light of what is going on and so can a few other Latin American countrys. Argentina will soon find itself isolated in this matter. Poor poor fools that they are, but there again their demise is in the interest of everyone else in the area so why should anyone worry about a country with no teeth

    after all, everyone one else is busy threatening us,

    @13

    I think its becoming clear that the UK is the keystone that holds the EU together, once we are removed the whole thing is going to collapse. That is what worries the EU, IMF World Bank, US and China. So they all want us to stay in getting used and abused forever more. Well I say fuck em all and lets get out!

    As for Uruguay, it needs to grow a pair and stop having its foreign policy dictated by Argentina

    @14

    As the UK is one of the largest contributors to the EU and helps bankroll it, of course they don't want us to leave.

    And they can't whack on huge trade tariffs as we buy more from Europe than they buy from us.

    Perhaps Uruguay has noticed that the Falkland Islands don't sell much to South America but instead have the power to buy from South America using a strong currency-Gift Horse-which Uruguay will not wish to look in the mouth.

    And the Islanders are not stupid, just because Uruguay and Chile officially support Argentina's claim to sovereignty won't stop the Falklands trading with them, because they know the real world will prevent Argentina's ineffectual claim ever being realised.
