Cry me a river, poor EU farmers!

Honestly if you can't compete then get out of the industry. Australian farmers aren't subsidised like EU and US farmers and yet with our high costs we still manage to compete. Indeed, Australian food commands a premium in China because of our high standards and quality.

“Beef imports that failed to meet the EU’s high environmental and quality standards...”

This is a blatant lie. Brazilian beef is the most hygienic and healthy of the world. The most demanding market in the world is the Muslim, Chinese and Russian. And Brazil has no problem or blockage in exports.

Are views like that of Mr. Martin Merrild that make Western Europe a region without positive outlook and completely decadent.

This is only one reason that the UK needs to leave the EU.

Australia sells more beef to China than Brazil. And it will increase because we signed a free trade agreement and Brazik hasn't.

The loss of US importance is not the fact that Brazil lost the few sales we make to them. Since Brazil has never sold anything to the United States, except airplanes, orange juice and coffee (with the latter two products undergo customs restrictions and on fees to enter on the US market).
So much so that for many years the United States has had billionaire trade surplus with Brazil.

What happened? Brazil does not see more the United States as a strategic partner, declined arms purchases, decreased the purchase of oil and fuel and mainly greatly diminished the level of cooperation between enterprises of both countries.

    It's not food!

@12 “ ...Since Brazil has never sold anything to the United States, except airplanes, orange juice and coffee.....”

Brasshole with head up arse as usual.

Typical top exports from Brazil to US include lots of electronic equipment, auto parts, machinery, chemical products, wood and wood products, steel stock, construction materials, and on and on. About US$27 billion annually in exports to the US.

    Brasshole is soooo very confused.
