discuss hydrocarbon and fisheries issues in the South Atlantic with the UK, following on the road map agreed last September in the joint statement. These issues were described as fundamental and will be discussed in the Argentine congress, but others such as trade and navigation, do not need to be consulted with the legislative branch. Argentina edging towards placing vessels in Falklands waters.

Its just a matter of time.

Jan 12th, 2017 - 07:41 pm - Link - Report abuse -4No doubt president Mauricio Macri would gladly relinquish all Argentina's claims over the Malvinas so he can establish a love relationship with the U.K.
That would also spell the end of his short-lived, disastrous political career.
share South Atlantic fisheries scientific data,
Jan 12th, 2017 - 08:21 pm - Link - Report abuse +5Are they saying, that they know something abt Fish that the islanders or fishermen do not,
perhaps Argentina has made a fantastic discovery or marine life that they would like to share with their new bestes friends in the islanders, ??
But wait a mo,
read the small print, ah their it is, I thought so, hidden in the corner,
SOVERIENGHTY, CLAUSE
do they really think the islanders are as stupid as THEY are...
The Arg Fisheries Dept and the Falklands Fisheries Dept used to share this info with each other-DIRECT - not through UK. Even arranged joint fisheries catch surveys at times. That was when there was mutual co-operation- Totally Removed and Independent from any Sovereignty dispute.
Jan 12th, 2017 - 10:20 pm - Link - Report abuse +7That was how it was - until some stupid idiots called Kircheners came along and threw out any interest in shared environmental issues with politics removed, all in their vain names- and the Argentine people thought they were so wonderfull - they relected them twice!

Jan 13th, 2017 - 12:10 pm - Link - Report abuse +2That's right. That is the way it used to be. There is so much beneficial data that could be shared it is a shame nobody is doing anything about it.
BTW, The Jedi will return to Malvinas in 25 years.
I have no such affliction Gordy.

”That was how it was - until some (beeep) (beeep) called Kirchners came along and threw out any interest in shared environmental issues with politics removed, all in their vain names...”
I say...:
That was how it was - until some (beeep) (beeep) called Kelper MLA's came along and unilaterally changed the fishing license period from 1 (one) to 25 (twentyfive) years to make themselves and a little bunch of other Kelpers squidllonaires... remember...?
Mrs Kirchner didn't do too bad for herself either.
Jan 13th, 2017 - 10:25 pm - Link - Report abuse +1Although Justice may be about to catch up with her, she managed to get away with it for a good few years.
Enough to keep her in Botox for the rest her life.
The extent of the licensing period was fully within the FIG's remit Think - be it 1 year or a 100, that decision was nothing to do with Argentina and did not affect Argentina. None of Argentina's business, and the only excuse that the Kirchners could latch on to.
Jan 14th, 2017 - 06:08 am - Link - Report abuse +1They didn't change the quotas though.
Jan 14th, 2017 - 08:09 am - Link - Report abuse +1@Englander. What we need is someone to report on the argie educational system. It's the logical place to start. Remember that video of the school brainwashing session? Are argie education institutions still peddling the Malvinas Myth? How long will it take to destroy the Myth? How long to process 20 million children through the system? Producing half a population without the Myth is what's necessary. Especially after the Myth has been hammered in for more than 60 years.

Jan 16th, 2017 - 03:46 pm - Link - Report abuse +1Why does it matter that they changed the licensing period? What does that have to do with sharing scientific data?
