Disclaimer & comment rulesWell, well, well... this will be a bit of a conflict for Snr. Massot of Alberta, immigrant from Argentina.
Apr 16th, 2017 - 01:51 am - Link - Report abuse +1Will Señor Massot wish the Argentines well, and a prosperous future under this joint initiative of Trudeau and Macri?
An initiative that died under CFK.
Or will he denounce the cheap Argentine labour and the opportunities afforded the Argentine people?
Will he tell us that this is merely a malicious plan by his Canadian neighbours of 40 years to flood Argentina with superior and cheaper goods, a plan by Macri to 'punish the poor'?
Golly, that doesn't sound like the sort of thing the socially conscious Trudeau would be involved in!
Perhaps Enrique will tell us there should be no trade, as the unscrupulous farmers of Argentina will dump contaminated meats and plant products that threaten the Canadian domestic market and producers?
Can't wait to see what Enrique's ideological slant is on this one, eh!
Both Canada and the Falkland Islands are members of the Commonwealth and mutually supportive. Surely, Mercorsur doesn't think it can make a profitable trade deal with Canada and impose economic sanctions against the Falklands? Raimondi must be out of his mind - somebody needs to explain 'realpolitic' to this person and perhaps to the whole of the Argentinian government.
