The European Union has proposed spending more on Italy and other member countries hit by the economic and migrant crises, but less on increasingly wealthy eastern states like Poland. Disclaimer & comment rulesOf course it does. Can't have the people saying what they want and even, horror of horrors, voting for it. Not that a vote in the EU means much. The Commission has a whole list of reasons why it can't do what the people want. The main reason is that the people would reduce the control and power of the Commission. But that's never mentioned.

Populism and other forms of deviancy must be stomped out.
