Defense Minister Oscar Aguad has rejected the idea that modifications to the Defense Bill will give Argentina's Armed Forces the power to intervene in social conflicts. We usually disagree, however I do support chronic's first line above. It is extremely worrisome this attempt to give the Argentine armed forces a role from which they were barred by laws sanctioned with society's full consensus.
