Thankfully the invaders were defeated in 1982. Do the Argentinians even understand what it means to have sovereignty?

If the Falkland Islands want better a better relationship with Argentina, why so reluctant to flights from Buenos Aires?

We only want good relations with the Argies once they drop the claim. If we had a flight to BA they would use it to control us and make us surrender our islands that despicable country

And if this becomes the 2nd Air route - Buenos Aires WILL happen - not straight away of course - but I,ll bet it will after maybe 6-8yrs or so.

My guess would be that even if the question is legitimate the phrasing of it 'implies' that the FI object to BA because the FI doesn't really want a better relationship with Argentina.

But as I say I'm only guessing.

Argentina's claim to the Falkland Islands is only political! I was in BA a few years ago on business and asked several people (taxi drivers, hotel people, customers) about the FI claim. Most told me the FI never belonged to Argentina. It's something the government brings up to unify the country in times of crisis. The 1982 war was a political ploy gone wrong.
