“Global citizen” award for Macri - is this a 'Monty Python' joke? I would love to be in the audience at this bizarre event.

Looks like the Atlantic Council has handled outdated information as part of the reasons to grant a Global Citizen award to Mauricio Macri.

”Macri (looked) for alternatives to the isolationist and populist policies of the past...“

Those ”alternatives“ have, so far, created massive indebtedness, depreciation of the Argentine peso and increasing inflation that is eating up workers' wages and retirees' pensions.

Another ”alternative“ has led the Macri government to seek urgent financial help from the International Monetary Fund once investors stopped buying Argentine bonds.

Still another ”alternative” consists in reducing the fiscal deficit to zero, a measure that will deepen an already deep recession.

    Shame on the Atlantic Council.
