Pope Francis Saturday stripped two Chilean bishops of their priesthood after having been found to be involved in the country's widening sexual abuse crisis, the Vatican said on Saturday. These people are child rapists.

I'm aware of current views towards capital punishment, but why don't human beings at least have the urge to hang these twisted predators?

They were “defrocked” and this is a very “severe” punishment.
