Spent many happy hours in that theatre bar on the square watching the poor Cartoneros cleaning up the rubbish.

A beautiful theatre especially after it’s refurbishment works. What a privilege it was to meet Daniel Barenboim after he performed there in the early noughties. I have also seen performances in three other of the truly remarkable opera houses on the top 15 list in this story. All unforgettable ocassions.
