Next president of Ecuador will have to govern with a fragmented legislature

The recent general elections in Ecuador defined a legislative panorama radically different from the previous one, with two forces that will hold more than 50% of the total of 137 seats, the Correista alliance Union for Hope (UNES) and the indigenous party Pachakutik (PK), and the disappearance of Alianza PAIS, the force founded by former president Rafael Correa and taken over four years ago by outgoing president Lenín Moreno.

Falklands reports 15 current Covid-19 positive cases and 6,940 swab tests

The Falkland Islands Government, FIG, announced on Tuesday, February 9 the latest Covid-19 swabbing results which indicate that the total number of positive tests, since 3 April 2020, reached 53, of which 15 continue to be currently positive, all under quarantine, with an only person in the hospital.

Falkland Islands, transportation arrangements for arriving passengers

The Falkland Islands Government has informed that FIGO, (the government's office in London) will be asking southbound passengers for their onward travel arrangements from MPC to Stanley, when booking a flight. The requirement applies to arriving passengers from 15 February 2021 onwards.

US Senate voted to impeach ex president Donald Trump, 56 to 44

AFP – The United States Senate voted to proceed with the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, and rejected defense arguments that it was unconstitutional. His lawyers argued that Mr. Trump should not face a trial in the Senate for inciting insurrection because he was no longer president.

Falklands' vaccination program in the Camp might be delayed due to weather conditions
