Brazilian steel exports to the EU soar 830% in five months because of the Ukraine war

Brazilian steel industry sales have ballooned since the start of the war in Ukraine sparked by the Russian invasion of its territory, which began in February. According to Steel Institute data, shipments of the metal raw material to the European Union increased by more than 830% in the first five months of this year, y-to-y, coinciding with the period of warfare in Eastern Europe.

Brazilian oil sales to China and India drop significantly as Russia moves in

Brazil oil sales to India and China in the first half of 2022 have fallen considerably, amid the Ukraine war and a significant increase in crude exports from Russia to the two Asian countries.
According to data from Brazil’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), in the first half of the year, Brazil exported 36% less oil to China than in the same period last year. Likewise exports to India fell 53.8%.
