
British Forces South Atlantic Islands, BFSAI, stationed at the Falkland Islands have completed Operation ‘Austral Endurance’, strengthening the UK’s ability to operate safely and responsibly in the Antarctic.

The Falkland Islands is supportive of the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO) plea for all in the wool industry to sign the petition “Make the Label Count”, which calls for, “Wear Wool, not Fossil Fuel”.

Much of the Falkland Islands’ land mass is used for agriculture. The main product is wool, with an EU approved abattoir producing mutton and lamb for local and export markets and beef for local markets.

The RAF's fleet of Typhoon FGR Mk4s is being upgraded with new state-of-the-art radar systems to help the jets better detect and identify potential enemy aircraft. Typhoons play a key role in UK’s Quick Reaction Alert missions including in the Falkland Islands, as reported by Forces.net.

Argentina’s ambassador to France, Ian Sielecki, halted the start of a hearing at France’s National Assembly and refused to speak while a map behind him displayed the Falklands/Malvinas as UK territory. Proceedings resumed only after a staff member covered the islands with a sticky note.
