    The Falkland Islands’ Registration Officer is required to carry out a yearly canvass for the purpose of updating the Register of Electors. On Monday 17 March 2025, all households should have received a form V “Request for information from householders” in the post.

Comprising of various training situations, including casualties, fires and floods, the Ship’s Company must respond quickly and correctly under the watchful eye of the assessors.

    The people of the Falkland Islands and their right to Self-determination

    Today, the Falkland Islands are home to a diverse and multicultural community.

    In March 2013, the people of the Falkland Islands went to the polls. With a turnout of 92%, 99.8% of the electorate voted to remain a British Overseas Territory. This was self-determination in action, and self-determination remains at the heart of the Falklands' relationship with the UK today.     Charles III launched the King's Baton Relay for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

    As the first Baton-bearer, Sir Chris Hoy walked through the Quadrangle of Buckingham Palace to the Centre Arch with a pathway lined by Pipers from the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band.

    His Majesty King Charles III, Patron of Commonwealth Sport, has officially launched the inaugural Commonwealth Sport King’s Baton Relay for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games at Buckingham Palace on Commonwealth Day, Monday 10 March 2025. His Majesty placed his Message to the Commonwealth into the first Baton, passing it to the first Baton-bearer, Sir Chris Hoy, to start the relay with 500 days to go to the Opening Ceremony of Glasgow 2026.
