  Malvinas Argentine sovereignty policy launches book recalling first speech before UN C24

  

  Foreign minister Hector Timerman and Malvinas affairs Secretary Daniel Filmus, made the official presentation of the book “Malvinas Argentine sovereignty; 50 years since ambassador Ruda's speech” which recalls the fiftieth anniversary of the first Argentine presentation on the question of the Malvinas Islands before the UN Decolonization Committee, or C24.

  Fifty years since Falklands incursion and landing by Argentine light aircraft

  

  This Monday is the fiftieth anniversary of an odd stunt by Argentine Cessna pilot Miguel Fitzgerald who landed his light aircraft on the Stanley racecourse, left a note of protest about the ‘illegal’ British occupation of the Falkland Islands, handed an Argentine flag to a bemused bystander, and flew away again.

  Malvinas: Argentina recalls fifty years since Falklands claim statement before C24

  

  Argentina will be launching on Thursday, 4 September the book “Argentine sovereignty in Malvinas; 50 years since Ambassador Ruda's statement” which recalls the half century since the presentation by then Ambassador Jose Maria Ruda before the United Nations Special Decolonization Committee, or C24.

  Falklands' lawmaker highlights in Central America the Islands' political and economic stability

  

  Falkland Islands elected lawmaker Dr. Barry Elsby, concluded a two day visit to Guatemala, aimed at defending the Islanders right of self-determination, and highlighting the economic opportunities in the Islands. Member of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Elsby is in the penultimate destination of his tour, a week ago and which also included Chile, Colombia, Panama and the last stop El Salvador.

  Falklands Argos Resources oil explorer confident on its farm-out outlook

  

  Falkland Islands Argos Resources Ltd posted Friday a narrowed pre-tax loss for the first half, saying it is more confident on the outlook for its farm-out efforts following the recent contracting of the Eirik Raude deep water rig by Noble Energy Inc and Premier Oil PLC.
