  Falklands remembers leading figure of post-conflict recovery

  David Taylor CBE the first Falkland Islands Government Chief Executive passed away in London on Thursday. The Falkland Islands Government on making the sad announcement on Friday underlined David's contribution to the recovery of the Islands following the 1982 conflict.

  Non-Falklands ship listings to change

  

  The criteria for listing non-Falklands flagged vessels will be revamped as a result of the European Union, Executive Committee (ExCo) recently filed application requesting a definition of economic ties between vessels and companies for transparency.

  Falklands' veterans at Liberation Monument SAMA dedication

  

  The Falkland Islands will hold on Saturday evening 10 November 2007 a special remembrance service at the Liberation Monument in Stanley, in honour of the Liberation of the Islands 25 years ago, while reflecting on the struggle and sacrifice that made the achievement of those remarkable combined services possible.

  25th Anniversary Veterans Pilgrimage to Falklands

  

  The coming week SAMA (South Atlantic Medal Association) 82 and Combat Stress 25th Anniversary Pilgrimage will be flying to the Falkland Islands with around 250 veterans and next of kin or family members of some of those lost in the 1982 South Atlantic conflict.

  Royal Navy disaster relief exercise of cruise in S. Atlantic

  

  Battling her way through 800 miles of ferocious seas between the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, the Royal Navy Atlantic South patrol and an auxiliary vessel carried out this month a disaster relief exercise based around a typical South Atlantic cruise vessel visiting South Georgia and which supposedly had ran aground in deteriorating weather.
