  Argentina publishes easy-read guide on Malvinas for “adequate reporting and avoiding inaccuracies”

  

  Argentina's Public Defender's Office set out a booklet with a list of recommendations for the “adequate treatment by media” of issues linked to the sovereignty dispute over the Falklands/Malvinas, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, and adjoining maritime spaces with the purpose of avoiding “inaccuracies towards audiences”.

  Argentine war veterans pepper-sprayed for demanding proper medical care

  

  A group of veterans of the 1982 Falklands/Malvinas War was repelled with tear gas Wednesday by the Buenos Aires police during a demonstration in front of the PAMI social security agency where they demanded the fulfillment of the medical care program to which they are entitled.

  First Woman Governor of the Falkland Islands: Alison Mary Blake CMG

  

  Ms. Alison Blake CMG has been appointed Governor of the Falkland Islands and Her Majesty’s Commissioner for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands in succession to Mr Nigel Phillips CBE. Ms Blake will take up her appointment during July 2022.

  Falklands: Planning Committee unanimously recommends rejection of plans for the new port

  

  The Falkland Islands Planning and Building Committee (PBC) has recommended, unanimously, that the current plans for the new port to be refused by Executive Council. Following the decision the committee adjourned to provide written reasons, --environmental and shortcomings--, to Executive Council (ExCo) for consideration when making the final decision whether to accept or not.

  Compassionate charter flight to Chile not approved by Government of Argentina

  

  The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) has been informed that the permissions required to operate a compassionate charter flight between the Falkland Islands and Chile have not been granted by the Argentine authorities. This flight was due to travel to Chile from the Falkland Islands on Saturday 19 March 2022, and return on Saturday 9 April, it was informed by the FIG on Wednesday.
