  Argo Pereira off to the Falklands for the squid season, after 16 days in Montevideo

  

  The Red Ensign trawler Argos Pereira finally left on Saturday evening for the Falkland Islands to begin the squid season after spending 16 days in Montevideo because of an outbreak of Covid 19 on board, as reported by the Uruguayan Chamber of Foreign Fishing Vessels Agents, CAPE.

  The Venturer leaves Brazil and is sailing for the Falklands

  

  Following four weeks docked in Bahia, northeast Brazil, because of a Covid 19 outbreak on board, the Red Ensign flagged trawler Venturer left on Tuesday night for the Falkland Islands.

  The Falkland Islands receives second batch of Covid-19 vaccines

  

  The Falkland Islands Government has received its second batch of Covid-19 vaccines, supplied by the UK government. These 2,200 doses arrived today via the South Atlantic Airbridge and are of the same Oxford/AstraZeneca type as the first batch received at the beginning of the month.

  Argos Pereira Peruvian crew member hospitalized in Montevideo

  

  One of the crew members from the Falklands bound trawler Argos Pereira, currently retained in Montevideo with 28 Covid-19 cases tested positive, had to be evacuated Monday afternoon and taken to a local hospital, because of further complications to his health situation.

  Falklands invites 45/49 years old to vaccination session this Tuesday; 45% of population inoculated

  

  The Falkland Islands hospital, KEMH, is inviting people aged between 45 and 49 to receive their Covid-19 vaccination this Tuesday, 16 February at the Falkland Islands Defence Force, FIDF, Hall in Stanley, between 09:00 am and 12:00 pm.

  The Falkland Islands government has informed of the new requirements for people travelling to England. In effect, as part of its response to Covid-19, the UK government has announced new testing requirements for people travelling to England from outside the Common Travel Area.

  Argos Pereira retained in Montevideo: 28 crew members tested Covid-19 positive

  

  Red Ensign flagged trawler Argos Pereira which was heading for the Falkland Islands squid season, has been retained in the port of Montevideo after 28 of its 54 crew members tested positive to Covid-19, despite having complied with the expected protocols in the high seas before docking for bunkering in the Uruguayan capital.
