  Extent of Falklands' “increased vigilance” and quarantine arrangements

  

  Following the announcement of the first civilian case which tested positive to Covid-19, the Falklands Islands Government imposed what it defines as increased vigilance. This is basically voluntary and there is no intention of additional legislation given the cooperation of the community. Anyhow, ExCo did approve changes to existing quarantine arrangements.

  Falklands under increased vigilance following the first civilian positive case of Covid

  

  A period of increased vigilance will begin in the Falkland Islands after one positive case of Covid-19 was confirmed. Falklands' lawmaker MLA Leona Roberts delivered the news at a Tuesday afternoon press conference, joined by Chief Medical Officer Dr Rebecca Edwards and Chief Executive Barry Rowland.

  Montevideo port loses lure for Falklands licensed Spanish fishing fleet

  

  At least four Spanish fishing vessels, which normally operate in the South Atlantic, most of them with Falklands' licenses, left for Vigo and Marin in Galicia, avoiding transshipment operations in the port of Montevideo, Uruguay, according to the country's leading Maritime and ports information report.

  Falklands commemorates Remembrance Day on Sunday November 8

  

  The Annual Service of Remembrance in the Falkland Islands commemorating the 102nd anniversary of the end of the First World War, will be held this Sunday November 8, beginning with a service at the Christ Church Cathedral commencing at 9.30 am, according to a release from Gilbert House.

  Argentina wants EU to eliminate zero tariff access for Falklands' exports

  

  Argentina held a meeting with the European Union ambassador and 21 of 27 EU members' representatives in Buenos Aires and formally called for an end of the support for UK Falklands' sovereignty recognition in the ongoing Brexit negotiations between Brussels and London.

  Members of the Malvinas Council appointed on the flag anniversary

  

  The Argentine government announced on Thursday some of the names that will be sitting at the National Council on Issues Relative to the Malvinas, South Georgia, and the South Sandwich Islands, as passed unanimously by the Argentine congress last August.

  Falklands vaccination program will receive support from the UK government

  

  The UK Government has written to the Falkland Islands Government to confirm that it has secured an agreement with the UK’s Vaccine Taskforce to supply British Overseas Territories with Covid-19 vaccines when it is able to procure these.

  New state of the art Falklands' trawler, Montelourido, delivered in Galicia

  

  Montelourido, ZDLC4, is the latest trawler to be launched at a Galician shipyard for the Falklands flagged fleet. The delivery took place this Monday at Nodosa yard in Marin, during a very austere and limited ceremony because of the pandemic, and will operate along her sister vessel on Falklands fishing grounds.
