  OAS reiterates support for Falklands' sovereignty talks between Argentina and UK

  

  The General Assembly of the Organization of American States, OAS, supported a declaration on the Falklands/Malvinas question, reaffirming once again the need for the governments of Argentina and the United Kingdom to resume negotiations on the disputed sovereignty with the purpose of finding a peaceful solution to the prolonged controversy.

  Falklands government replies to Argentina's sovereignty claims at the OAS General Assembly

  

  Minister Wendy Morton, acting as observer delegate spoke on Wednesday at the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) in response to the speech made by the Argentine Foreign Minister Felipe Solá, in which he again claimed sovereignty over the Falkland Islands.

  A FIGAS refurbished BN-2 Islander delivered to Air Alderney

  

  Air Alderney has taken delivery of its first BN-2 Islander in the form of G-BLNI (msn 2188), according to the UK civil aircraft register. The 1987-vintage aircraft was previously operated by the Falkland Islands Government Air Service, FIGAS as VP-FBI. It remains parked at London Biggin Hill, according to Flightradar24 ADS-B data, but is already in Air Alderney's livery.

  Falklands' incursion and landing by an Argentine submarine at Cow Bay in October 1966

  

  A top-secret operation from the Argentine navy, which apparently took place in October 1966, was revealed by an Argentine newspaper, El Diario Nuevo Día, from the province of Santa Cruz. The operation took place when the submarine ARA Santiago del Estero, emerged at Cow Bay, in East Falkland, north of Stanley, and had a couple of teams land and survey the beach and surrounding areas with most probably a future invasion purpose.

  Falklands congratulates Dr. Edwards and Sukey Cameron on OBE honours

  

  The Falkland Islands Government wishes to congratulate Chief Medical Officer Dr Rebecca Edwards and former UK Representative Sukey Cameron, on each being awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list published this weekend. Both now become Officers of the Order of the British Empire for services to the Falkland Islands Community.
