    Uruguayan vessel the Holberg departed Stanley harbour on Monday afternoon for the three-week voyage. She was last night (Tuesday) sheltering from bad weather, but was due to resume her search as soon as conditions improved.

    “All parties must work together to ensure Gibraltar's continuing prosperity in future,” United Kingdom Foreign Secretary Jack Straw stated on the eve of his meeting with his Spanish counterpart Miguel Angel Moratinos, speaking at his first Gibraltar Tercentenary function at Gibraltar Day in London at the Guildhall Monday night.

    Antarctic fisheries TAC will be decided in Tasmania this week.

    The Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) is meeting in Hobart to discuss each of the Southern Ocean fisheries and set the coming year's allowances. The organization monitors stock levels and conservation measures and is responsible for allocating an annual total allowable catch (TAC) for each fishery.
