  “There is no such thing as Falkland Islanders: they are British citizens in disputed islands”

  

  There is no such thing as Falkland Islanders, the Argentine Foreign minister Hector Timerman insisted during a press conference in London on Wednesday, claiming they are British citizens living in disputed islands. He claimed the United Nations only acknowledges two parties in the territorial dispute: UK and Argentina.

  The Falklands Islands will be under Argentine control within 20 years, Minister Hector Timerman said in an interview with The Guardian and The Independent in London insisting that not one single country in the world supports the UK governing the Falklands.

  The Falkland Islands government has opened a public consultation on the proposed referendum question on the Falklands Political Status to be held in early 2013. The proposed question was arrived at and agreed by all members of the Legislative Assembly having received expert advice on the issue.

  Falklands included in Argentina’s UN continental shelf committee presentation

  

  Argentina made a technical presentation last week before the UN Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf, CLCS, on the exterior limits of the Argentine shelf in which the claimed territories of the Malvinas, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands and ‘Argentine Antarctica’ were included.

  Argentina’s “Malvinas State policy” to be announced Saturday from Tierra del Fuego

  

  Argentine pro-government and opposition legislators decided to postpone until Saturday the trip to Tierra del Fuego to present the document that will be the base for the “State policy” regarding the sovereignty claim over the disputed Malvinas Islands.
