    FAB completes 10th evacuation flight from war-torn Lebanon

    FAB missions have already evacuated 2,072 people and 24 pets from Lebanon since Oct. 2, 2024

    Brazil's Air Force (FAB) has completed its tenth humanitarian Operation Cedar Roots mission airlifting people out of war-turn Lebanon and bringing them to safety in South America, Agencia Brasil announced. A total of 213 refugees arrived in São Paulo at 4.06 am at the Guarulhos military Air Base for a total of 2,072 evacuees since Oct. 2. The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has also rescued 24 pets. According to Brazilian authorities, some 20,000 nationals of the South American country live in Lebanon.

    Brazilian Air Force completes third Operation Cedar Roots flight

    The FAB's KC-30 stops over to refuel at Lisbon on her way to and from Beirut

    Brazil's Air Force (FAB) Thursday completed its third airlift mission bringing back nationals of the South American country out of war-torn Lebanon. The third flight landed at the Guarulhos Air Base in Sao Paulo carrying 217 passengers for a total of 672 evacuees, Agencia Brasil reported. The FAB expects to bring back around 3,000 of the 21,000 Brazilians living in Lebanon at a pace of approximately 500 passengers each week.

    Brazil postpones rescue mission in Lebanon

    Of the nearly 21,000 Brazilians living in Lebanon, at least 3,000 approached the Embassy in Beirut to seek help fleeing the country

    Operation Cedar Roots has been postponed due to unsafe conditions reaching Beirut's International Airport by land for the some 220 Brazilians stranded in war-torn Lebanon, Agencia Brasil reported Friday. According to the latest update, the FAB aircraft is now scheduled to take off Saturday from Lisbon, Portugal, to the Lebanese capital.
