  Aberdeen oil firm secures exploration licences on Iceland continental shelf

  

  Aberdeen oil firm Faroe Petroleum has secured provisional exploration licences in the Dreki area on the Icelandic Continental Shelf. The company said the licences were “extensive”, encompassing seven blocks located inside the Arctic Circle to the north east of Iceland.

  Cairn Energy sells 30% of stake in Greenland licence to Norway’s Statoil

  

  British Oil explorer Cairn Energy has sold off a 30% stake in one of its Greenland exploration licences to Norwegian group Statoil. It is part of Cairn's plan to bring in a partner in to share the costs of exploration in the Arctic.

  Merrill Lynch appointed to find partners to develop Falklands’ oil project

  

  Rockhopper Exploration which recently discovered oil and gas in Falkland Islands waters has appointed Bank of America Merrill Lynch to lead the process of finding a partner for its 2 billion dollars oil project in the North Falkland basin, reports the London media.
