Unemployment in Magallanes region, extreme south of Chile, was 3.8% in the second quarter of the year, which represents a 1.5 percentage point increase over the last twelve months despite a slight fall of 0.2 percentage point compared to the previous quarter (March/May) of 2015, according to the latest release from the INE stats office.
Magallanes Region in the extreme south of Chile had a 3.2% unemployment rate in the third quarter of the year, according to the latest Chilean Stats Office, INE, report. This is the second lowest in the country, behind Aysén Region and marks a slight drop compared to the immediate previous quarter June/July/August, 3,3%.
The extreme south region of Chile, Magallanes continues with record low unemployment, less than half the national average, according to the official stats for the mobile June/August quarter. While the Chilean national average unemployment is 6.7% in Magallanes it stands at 3.3%, and 0.8 percentage points less than a year ago.
