Yellen, 74, is the first woman to hold the position in the Treasury’s 231-year history, and only the second person to ever have served as both Federal Reserve chair and Treasury Secretary.

EU warns on export rules for Covid-19 vaccines if supplies to the 27 member block are limited

The European Union has warned it will tighten rules on exports of Covid vaccines, amid a row with AstraZeneca over a cut in planned supplies to the 27-member bloc. Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides said the EU “will take any action required to protect its citizens.”
