Lindblad Expeditions has inaugurated its first polar expedition cruise ship, National Geographic Endurance, in honor of explorer Ernest Shackleton's iconic Antarctic vessel. The incorporation to the fleet which took place in Reykjavik, Iceland was officially welcomed by Lindblad Expeditions’ founder and co-chair Sven Lindblad and CEO Dolf Berle, as well as her captain Aaron Wood.
The Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust (FMHT) is planning an expedition – Endurance22 – to locate, survey and film the wreck of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s iconic ship, Endurance, which sank in the Weddell Sea in November 1915.
