  Argentina recalls the sinking of ARA Belgrano and honors its crew, families and survivors

  

  The Argentine Ministry of Defense and the Navy paid tribute to the courage and glory of the 323 sailors who died during the sinking of the cruiser ARA Belgrano, on 2 May 1982, at the beginning of hostilities with UK during the South Atlantic conflict.

  Argentina recalls the 38th anniversary of the Air Force baptism of fire on May first 1982

  

  Defense minister Agustín Rossi called on Argentines to claim sovereignty over the Falklands/Malvinas Islands with the same character displayed by the Argentine pilots during the 1982 South Atlantic conflict with the UK and underlined it's up to the new generations to make sure the Malvinas cause is not forgotten.

  Argentine officers accused of 'burying' and 'staking' conscripts during the Falklands conflict face trial

  

  An Argentine federal judge from the city of Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego will be questioning four officers who allegedly during the 1982 Falklands' conflict ordered the “burial” and “staking” of a group of conscripts for having slaughtered a sheep, since they were desperately hungry and suffering from cold weather conditions.

  A “Malvinas Heroes” library to the opened at the End of the World lighthouse

  

  An Argentine yacht with a crew of five, one of them a survivor of the sinking of ARA General Belgrano during the Falklands conflict have left Bahia Blanca for Ushuaia and then on to the End of the World Lighthouse at the Isla de los Estados, where they plan to open a library under the name of “Malvinas Heroes”.

  Falklands' veteran wins mental health care battle

  

  The Daily Express has reported that a Falklands' veteran who went on hunger strike in protest at the treatment of ex service men has won a victory after the former head of the British Army intervened in the case. Ex-paratrooper Gus Hales, 62, launched his protest over the “disgraceful” lack of mental health care for former soldiers and the prosecutions that are being brought against those who have served in Northern Ireland.

  “The Falkland Islands belong to you, the Islanders”. The key to “Malvinas is in the hands of Islanders”

  

  Twenty years ago, this month, one of Argentina's then leading political analysts and journalist publicly admitted the Falkland Islands belong to the Islanders. Mariano Grondona had been invited to the Islands by the Legislative Council and during a gathering with locals said the famous quote, “The Falkland Islands belong to you, the Islanders”.
