  In anticipation of the 37th anniversary of the start of the South Atlantic conflict, 2 April 1982, the Argentine football association and Army have organized a raft of events to pay homage to the 649 combatants fallen during the invasion of the British South Atlantic Islands claimed by Argentina.

  UK's The Grand Tour motoring program call Argentina “God's cesspit”

  

  The Grand Tour’s Richard Hammond has reignited the trio’s feud with Argentina by calling the country ‘God’s cesspit’. Jeremy Clarkson famously managed to rile millions of Argentines back in 2014 when he drove through Patagonia for an episode of Top Gear with a license plate number which read H982 FKL, sparking complaints the vehicle was referring to the Falklands War.

  Falklands Police correct Argentine flag incident coverage

  

  The Royal Falkland Island Police have corrected reports in the Argentine press this week. Eight men filmed holding banners and singing at the Argentine military cemetery had been reported in their national press as having been detained for two days in “a tense situation.”

  Vessel linked to Falklands' history and turned into Bristol museum competing for the EU Museum of the Year

  

  A vessel closely linked to the Falkland Islands' history and which was later to become the heart of the SS Great Britain in Bristol museum, is one of three British museums nominated along with the British Motor Museum and the D-Day Story at Portsmouth which have been shortlisted for the prestigious 2019 European Museum of the Year, (EMYA) Award. Last year’s EMYA winner was London’s Design Museum.

  Argentina plans stricter coordination to tackle illegal fishing in the South Atlantic

  

  Argentina is getting tough on illegal unregulated fishing in the South Atlantic and is planning a joint effort by the Fisheries Under Secretariat, the Armed Forces and security forces. It is estimated according to government sources that Argentina loses some US$ 2.5 billion annually to illegal fishing which so far it has been unable to control. The report was published by Infobae.

  Falklands: First surveys of the Burdwood Bank completed for Marine Managed Areas Project

  Next visit of Malvinas relatives to the Falklands takes off on Wednesday 

  

  Next Wednesday a group of relatives of Argentine soldiers fallen in the 1982 South Atlantic conflict and  whose remains were recently identified will be travelling to the Argentine military cemetery at Darwin in the Falkland Islands. Relatives will be able to mourn and pray next to the gravestones which now have the full name of their loved ones. A military ceremony will also be held to honor the Argentine soldiers buried at Darwin.

  Falklands' Fortuna Ltd. implements jigger crew safety awareness courses

  

  One of the Falkland Islands leading fishing companies, Fortuna Limited has launched a shore-based safety training course for the crew of illex jiggers set to operate in the Islands in the illex squid season. Some 900 crew-members are expected to undergo the course, which is being held every day over a two week period.
