The European Union on Monday adopted quotas for farming produce it will accept from third countries after Britain leaves the bloc and acknowledged this could happen before it has concluded talks with them on the subject.
The European Union and Mercosur have made some progress on how to open their markets to cars, but ended free trade talks in Brussels on Friday with finger-pointing about who was holding up a deal. The EU and the Mercosur bloc of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay began on-off negotiations towards a trade alliance in 1999, with a fresh impetus since 2016.
The European Union has been forced to accept a 2% rise in its budget next year, much less than the increase it wanted of around 5%.
Sales of farm machinery in Argentina soared 73% totalling 7.074 units, in the third quarter compared to the same period a year ago and 33.6% over the previous quarter according to the latest release from the Statistics and Census Office, Indec.
