The visit of two Members of the British Parliament to the Falkland Islands, as announced last week has been cancelled. However the invitation to visit the Islands remains open and hopefully it will take place next year.
Two UK MPs Yvonne Fovargue (L) and Guy Opperman (C) will be visiting the Falkland Islands from 13 to 18 November, accompanied by Falklands government representative in London, Sukey Cameron MBE.
Falkland Islanders that travelled on the South Atlantic air-bridge (Brize Norton-MPA and MPA-Brize Norton) on 16 and 18 April will be refunded since a non civilian-registered aircraft was involved, but will have to pay a £150 booking fee in order to support the government's policy of subsidizing air-bridge fares.
Argentina’s ever more aggressive rhetoric challenging the Falkland Islands sovereignty underlines the significance of the right to self determination, said Sukey Cameron the Falklands’ elected government representative in London.
