  Brazil: Búzios deepwater field produces 1 billion barrels of oil in March

  

  The Búzios Field in the Santos Basin, the largest ultra-deepwater facility of that kind worldwide, produced 1 billion barrels of oil in March, the state-owned company Petrobras announced this week, Agencia Brasil reported. Petrobras operates the field in a consortium with Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA) and the Chinese companies CNOOC and CNODC.

Among regions globally, South America continues to lead with 27 planned and announced FPSO additions by 2025, followed by Africa and Europe.   Petrobras announced a further hydrocarbon discovery at the giant pre-salt Libra field in the Santos basin, offshore Brazil. The company said that well 3-BRSA-1310-RJS, in the central portion of the block, identified the presence of hydrocarbons in a low-porosity reservoir. This is the fourth well drilled in the Libra area since exploratory drilling began last August.
