The Gibraltar Football Association will make a formal complaint to UEFA against the Spanish national team following Monday’s Euro 2024 champions parade in Madrid, where the team sang “Gibraltar Español” on stage.
Gibraltar created football history on Tuesday October 16 when they claimed victory over Liechtenstein coming from 1-0 behind to win 2-1 in their fifth group 4 match in League D. The second consecutive victory in the same week was Gibraltar’s first official competitive win on home soil in front of a sellout crowd.
The Government of Gibraltar has warmly congratulated Michael Llamas QC upon his appointment as Europe's representative in the highly prestigious and important Ethics Committee of FIFA. Llamas joins other highly distinguished lawyers and judges who will form part of the Ethics Committee. These include a former President of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne has ordered FIFA’s Congress to take all necessary measures to admit the Gibraltar Football Association as a full member of FIFA as soon as possible.
