  Brazilians allowed to double purchases in duty free shops to US$ 1.000

  

  Brazilian Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, signed a resolution on Monday raising the limit of purchases in duty-free shops from US$ 500 to US$ 1,000. The new value for purchases from foreign and domestic airports and border free shops, starts January 1, 2020.

  Oil spill in Brazil has affected 42 cities, environment minister reports

  

  Brazil’s environment minister says more than 100 tons of oil has been spilt along the northeastern coast since the beginning of September. Ricardo Salles said Monday on Twitter that 42 cities have been affected by the spills. He did not say how he reached those figures.

  Bolsonaro signs decree expanding soft financing for farmers

  

  Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on Tuesday signed a decree with a variety of measures to expand financing for farmers. The measures include the creation of a “fraternal” fund that will provide an estimated 5 billion reais (US$ 1.20 billion) in additional credit for the sector, according to Rogerio Miranda, the Economy Ministry's deputy secretary for agriculture policy.
