  Browne turns down Timerman invitation to discuss Falklands next week in Buenos Aires

  

  UK Foreign Office Minister Jeremy Browne turned down on Friday an invitation sent by Argentine Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman to visit Argentina. Timerman had hoped to meet with the UK government official in Buenos Aires when Browne makes his trip to the Falkland Islands next week.

  UK blasts Argentina’s “domineering position” and attempt to impose a blockade on the Falklands

  

  Argentina is trying to impose an “economic blockade” on the Falkland Islands, said Foreign Office Minister Jeremy Browne who made plain clear that the people of the Falklands are free to determine their own political arrangements and were not to be part of ”some sort of trade-off” over their heads.

  Falklands’ Liberation Day with religious service, parade and act of remembrance

  

  To mark the 30th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands on 14th June 1982, a Service of Thanksgiving will be held in Christ Church Cathedral commencing at 10:00. Members of the public are asked to be seated by 09:45, according to a release from Gilbert House.
