  Falklands Association concerned about political events in UK and Argentina

  

  The local sub-committee of the Falkland Islands Association which has in various forms defended Falklands' interests since 1968, has sent out an email to all its members asking them “to give a rough outline of how they view the current political situation together with any ideas or fears they may have for the future and anything they would like to see the FIA doing on their behalf.”

  “Malvinas Veterans are increasingly recognized for their valor and courage”

  

  The Argentine Army Chief of Staff said he perceives a greater recognition from society towards Malvinas veterans, and this recognition, with time, is increasing. Lieutenant General Claudio Pasqualini made the statement at Wednesday's traditional meeting of the Buenos Aires Rotary Club, which on this occasion had another special guest at his table, British ambassador Mark Kent.

  The relatives of the latest 29 Argentine soldiers remains identified in the Falklands will be flying on 13 March to the Islands, to the Argentine military cemetery at Darwin to pray and honor their loved ones. The announcement was done by the Argentine journalist Martin Dinatale, who is usually well informed on Falklands issues.

  Independent inspection of the Royal Falkland Islands Police

  

  The Royal Falkland Islands Police reported on Monday that two representatives from the UK Red Snapper Group, Dave Roberts and Neil Hunter, have arrived in the Islands commissioned by the local government to carry out an independent inspection of the force.

  Falklands approves funding for a new aircraft to meet local demand

  

  The Falkland Islands Government Air Service has received funding approval from the Executive Council and the Standing Finance Committee for a new aircraft to replace Islander VP-FBM which incurred substantial structural damage while landing at Beaver Island in June.
