  Falklands will be making their case before the UN C24 this week

  

  The Falkland Islands and Argentina will be making their case on Thursday in New York before the United Nations Special Decolonization Committee, or C24, an annual event where the Islanders demand recognition of their right to self determination, as clearly expressed in the UN charter for all peoples of the world.

  Strong support for the Falkland’s right to self-determination on North American Tour

  

  Falkland Island’s Legislative Assembly member, Mike Summers, recently travelled to North America on a three week trip to gauge support for the Falklands’ right to self-determination from the new Canadian Government. In addition to visiting Canada, MLA Summers also made stops in Miami and the Bahamas.

  US will not side with Argentina in its dispute with hedge funds, says Kerry

  

  US Secretary of State, John Kerry has rejected the possibility that the Barack Obama administration would side with Argentina in the long-standing dispute with hedge funds over the defaulted bonds from the 2001/2 meltdown. Still the US official praised what he considered some “positive steps” by the Cristina Fernandez government.

  Falklands’ referendum and self-determination receive support from US Congress

  

  United States Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart released a statement after introducing a House Resolution recognizing the Falkland Islands referendum which was held March 10/11 with an overwhelming turnout and result.
