Plans to preserve the legacy of the Royal Navy's Invincible Class aircraft carriers have been outlined. HMS Invincible, HMS Illustrious and HMS Ark Royal came into service in the early 1980s and have spent the last thirty years protecting the UK's interests across the world.

UK receives first of next generation of stealth aircraft, STOVL F-35 Lightning II

The first of the UK's next generation of stealth combat aircraft, Lightning II, was handed over to the Ministry of Defence at a ceremony in Fort Worth, Texas. Defence Secretary Philip Hammond formally accepted the first of the jets which are short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) F-35 Joint Strike Fighters and are manufactured by Lockheed Martin.

UK without a fully operational aircraft carrier until 2030, says spending watchdog

Britain may be without a fully operational aircraft carrier until 2030, according to a report published by the Commons spending watchdog. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) says two carriers being built will cost more, offer less military capability and be ready much later than planned.

Air Titan Boeing 767 takes over Falklands-Brize Norton airbridge contract

Air Titan is to take up the airbridge flight as from this weekend as Air Seychelles makes its last journey from Brize Norton to the Falkland Islands under the current contract with the Ministry of Defence.
