The battle Ensign from aircraft carriers HMS Invincible, which as the flagship of the Task Force sent to recover the Falklands Islands played a leading role in combating the Argentine occupation forces in the Islands, has made it to its new home, the Historic Dockyard Museum in Stanley.
The ex-Royal Air Force (RAF) Sea King helicopter, XZ593, is to be gifted to the Falkland Islands Museum and National Trust to commemorate its gallant service to the Falklands, Commander British Forces South Atlantic Islands, Commodore Darren Bone RN, has announced.
Commemorative events to mark the centenary of the Battles of Coronel and the Falklands were brought to the table by the Falkland Islands 1914 committee.
