  HMS Invincible battle Ensign will be displayed at Falklands' Museum

  

  The battle Ensign from aircraft carriers HMS Invincible, which as the flagship of the Task Force sent to recover the Falklands Islands played a leading role in combating the Argentine occupation forces in the Islands, has made it to its new home, the Historic Dockyard Museum in Stanley.

  Falklands museum receives gift of a Sea King SAR helicopter

  

  The ex-Royal Air Force (RAF) Sea King helicopter, XZ593, is to be gifted to the Falkland Islands Museum and National Trust to commemorate its gallant service to the Falklands, Commander British Forces South Atlantic Islands, Commodore Darren Bone RN, has announced.

  Falklands' preparations for commemoration of the great naval battle of 1914

  

  Commemorative events to mark the centenary of the Battles of Coronel and the Falklands were brought to the table by the Falkland Islands 1914 committee. Chair of the committee MLA Phyl Rendell said the committee split into two working groups last year to organize the schedule of events and to progress the memorial wall plans.

  Former Falkland Islands elected Councillor Richard Cockwell last week received his OBE from Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace. Richard was awarded the honour for his work promoting the Falklands internationally.
