Royal Navy submariners honored for mission to help locate missing Argentine sub ARA San Juan

British submariners have been recognized for their efforts to help Argentina find missing sub San Juan. An eight-strong military team and one civilian were flown to the South Atlantic as part of the massive search effort sparked when the submarine vanished in November 2017. They have earned a commendation from the UK’s second most senior sailor, Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd.

An undetermined number of small Iranian boats Wednesday tried to divert the oil tanker British Heritage of the United Kingdom in the Hormuz Strait but withdrew after dissuasive action from the Royal Navy's HMR Montrose, it was reported. No shots were fired during the incident.

UK and Chile honor a shared naval hero: Admiral Thomas Cochrane

The First Sea Lord and head of the Chilean Navy have renamed a building inside Portsmouth Naval Base in tribute to a shared naval hero. Admiral Sir Philip Jones and special guest Admiral Julio Leiva Molina unveiled on Sunday the HQ Portsmouth Flotilla as the Cochrane Building.
