The third next-generation nuclear deterrence submarine will be named HMS Warspite, Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson announced on Monday, carrying on the tradition of breathing new life into first-generation hunter-killer names.

  UK should end its control of the Chagos Islands in the Indian Ocean “as rapidly as possible”, the UN's highest court has said. Mauritius claims it was forced to give up the islands - now a British overseas territory - in 1965 in exchange for independence, which it gained in 1968.

  UK's Falklands garrison force travels to Argentina for Search and Rescue exercises

  

  The new Commander of British Forces South Atlantic Islands, CBFSAI, Brigadier Nick Sawyer said that a small team of his garrison will be travelling to Argentina, at the end of the month, for search and rescue exercises, as part of the (UK, Argentina and Falklands) shared humanitarian values and responsibility in and around the South Atlantic area that extends to Antarctica.

  PM May considering delaying Brexit deadline for two months

  

  Prime Minister Theresa May is considering a plan under which Britain’s exit from the European Union would be delayed for up to two months, the Telegraph reported on Sunday. British government officials have drawn up a series of options, which were circulated at the weekend, in a bid to avoid resignations by ministers determined to support a backbench bid to take a “no deal” Brexit off the table this week, according to the Telegraph.

  Final Brexit vote on 12 March, says PM May; Tories remain deeply divided

  

  MPs will be able to have a final vote on the Brexit deal by 12 March, Prime Minister Theresa May has said. Speaking to reporters as she travelled to a summit in Egypt, Mrs May ruled out holding the parliamentary vote on her deal this week. She said talks with the European Union were “still ongoing”.
