  Canadian parliament approves recreational marihuana

  

  Recreational marijuana may soon be legal in Canada, after both the House of Commons and the Senate approved the Cannabis Act. Legal sales are likely to begin before the end of the boreal summer after the Senate voted 52-29 on Tuesday night to approve the bill, CBC reported.

  Mujica meets Obama on Monday with a long agenda of issues to discuss

  

  Uruguayan president Jose Mujica flies on Saturday evening to the United States and on Monday at 10:45 will be walking into the White House for a sixty minutes meeting with President Barack Obama. Mujica will be spending five days in Washington where he has scheduled a long list of meetings and conferences.

  Licensed pharmacies in Uruguay will sell marihuana at a dollar a gram

  

  Uruguayan authorities have revealed how marijuana will be produced and sold legally in the country following the approval of the bill last December. Licensed pharmacies will sell the drug for approximately one US dollar a gram with consumers allowed 40g a month.

  Uruguayans don't approve the marihuana bill, but are prepared to give it a chance, says poll

  

  A majority of Uruguayans (64%) are against the bill that legalizes growing and selling marihuana, but 51% are willing to wait and see if the system works before having it rejected, according to the latest public opinion poll released on Thursday. The bill was passed in parliament last December but only with the support from the ruling coalition.
