    Venezuelan boat people drown in an attempt to reach the island of Trinidad

    According to the Trinidad Express, boat set sail off the port of Las Salinas, Guiria for the three and a half hour long journey

    At least 23 illegal immigrants, including women and two children, are feared drowned after their boat overturned early Wednesday morning off Venezuela. The ill-fated fishing pirogue was carrying 35 persons, including the captain, an inlet along the Caribbean island of Trinidad’s south western peninsula.

    Little by little, around noon on this Sunday, Venezuelans living in Uruguay gathered in front of the Venezuelan embassy in Montevideo to protest against what they consider “unfair and fraudulent” presidential elections. The diplomatic office, where an electoral table was installed where 405 Venezuelans living in Uruguay would be authorized to vote by the electoral register, was fenced with by the police for fear of violent attacks.
