After terminating the supply to Argentina, Bolivia will up its gas pumping towards Brazil according to an agreement between YPFB and Petrobras. Buenos Aires announced it would no longer be needing Bolivian gas since Vaca Muerta, the second-largest reserve in the world and the fourth-largest oil reserve, guarantees the supply for its domestic market.
Bolivia’s President Luis Alberto Arce announced on X a massive discovery of a natural gas field, “the largest find in the country since 2005”. Bolivia’s state-owned hydrocarbons company YPFB described it as the biggest gas find in nearly two decades and could become the country’s third-largest producing field.
Bolivian President Luis Arce Catacora announced that his country's first biodiesel production plant will start operating next week in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Although some experts have doubted the project's worth, the Government said that the new undertaking would generate up to US$ 100 million in savings on fossil fuel imports. Supreme Decree 5135 authorizes the addition of up to 25% of vegetable components to conventional fuels.
