    Venezuela's Supreme Court upholds Machado's electoral ban

    With Friday's ruling, “the regime decided to end the Barbados Agreement,” Machado argued on X

    Venezuela's Supreme Court (TSJ) Friday upheld a decision by the Comptroller General's Office whereby opposition leader María Corina Machado may not run in this year's elections after having been disenfranchised despite garnering 92.35% of the votes in the Oct. 22 primaries. The TSJ also confirmed Friday the disqualification of two-time presidential candidate Henrique Capriles.

    Venezuela and Guyana to keep discussing Essequibo issue peacefully

    No significant progress was achieved on Thursday, although none was expected

    After more than five hours of conversations, diplomatic delegations from Venezuela and Guyana agreed on Thursday in Brasilia to discuss the dispute over the oil-rich Essequibo territory peacefully. The gathering at the Itamaraty Palace resulted from talks between Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Irfaan Ali on December 14 in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

    Argentine judge orders Emtrasur Jumbo handed over to the US

    Venezuela threatened Latin American countries allowing the B-747-300 to fly back to the United States that such an acquiescence would be interpreted as a hostile act

    Lomas de Zamora Federal Judge Federico Villena, who has jurisdiction over Buenos Aires' international Ezeiza Airport, Wednesday acquiesced to a request from the United States and ordered the Boeing 747-300 freighter aircraft belonging to Venezuelan carrier Empresa de Transporte de Aerocargo del Sur (Emtrasur), after obtaining it from Iran's Mahan Air handed over to Washington.
