Disclaimer & comment rulesAs a fellow Irishman who had to cut short his term in 1966 due to an accident. There is something special about South Georgia for us as I think there had been six Met. Assistants there before me. After coming of Nights I used to walk around the Bay to the Graveyard and have a chat with the BOSS.

In a way I suppose so. I got home alive LOL. Loved it there and have a butchers at the two web cams every day. Don't Laugh too loud but was the name of the place I came a cropper 'Silly Point'. Just up from the Cross where the Sooties were hatching.

What a privilege it was to visit that beautiful place. Jan Cheek loved it as a child. And under British stewardship it will be restored to a true wildlife haven.
