Oh ho. Gibraltar thinking about replacing Britain with Malta? Malta is a major Mediterranean military power. 9 vessels and 6 boats. 13 aircraft. An infantry regiment. Good idea!

    #1 Yeah, I don't get your comment.

Gibraltar and Malta have many similarities including a similar shared history with the UK. If Gibraltar decides to go down the route of full independence Malta will become a key ally, perhaps not militarily, but certainly diplomatically (esp. if Gibraltar becomes a full member of the EU).

Did not see the Italians or anyone else falling overthemselves to reclaim sovereignty of Malta.

Malta, an ideal example of what a small population, inhabiting their own home, can do, if you just leave them to get on with it.

The Maltese, along with Genoans and Morrocans are amount the largest “minorities” in a Gibraltar. I say “minorities” because all the ethnic groups are minorities in Gibraltar with the British and Spanish being the largest minorities.

Of course all the minorities are opposed to Spanish oppression of a Gibraltar.

I think Conquerer only read the headline, and not the content.

Even so, why he would just jump to some random conclusion is anyone's guess, unless Conquerer is a sock puppet for one of our Argentine trolls and forgot to log in to his usual account?

Its a well known fact: the Malvinas have formed a strategic/diplomatic relationship with Narnia.

@ 7 Malta and Gibraltar are pretty safe places to visit and you are 'unlikely to get lynched.'

    Let's compare Malta with Argentina:
    - Strongest Economy: Malta
    - Highest HDI: Malta
    - Lowest income inequality: Malta
    - Highest life expectancy: Malta
    - Best weather: Malta

All these despite being continuously bombed/shelled in the 1940s.

    “they deserve each other.”

    Indeed-away from Spain's continual colonialism.
