Argentina and Brazil failed to reach an agreement to help unlock the ongoing tension between the two key Mercosur allies over bilateral trade. Argentina's Hector Timerman and his counterpart Mauro Vieira met in Buenos Aires to try and ease Brazil’s growing concerns about restrictions on the flow of goods, but any decisions were pushed forward to an undetermined date. No!!!
Not possible! Mercosour is one big happy family. Especially since the vibrant economy of Venezuela has been added along with complete free trade between the countries...
    Ask Paraguay what they think...
It's soooo sad that Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico embraced free trade agreements. Look at the sad state their struggling economies are experiencing due to it.
If only those Falkland pirates would leave the sacred Las Malvinas, everything would be sooooooo much better for Latin America...

It is true that Mexico is experiencing a serious financial crisis? I read an article in “El Economista” and I was amazed.

I always felt sorry Mexico. Very poor country that serves as cheap labor for US. GDP can even be significant, but it is almost all in the hands of US companies.

    Washington Consensus Effects!

Don't allow you ignorance of Mexico get in the way of you stupid ramblings. The majority of big business in Mexico are Mexican. Do a little research if you get get your head out of your ass hole long enough to read. 4 of the 10 largest are owned by one Mexican man......any idea who?

Another extreme poverty proof: concentration of income! They say that the one-eyed blind land is king. Slim won! And moved to California. Does he already have a green card?

    Poor Mexico!

“but any decisions were pushed forward to an undetermined date.”

    Typical of MercoSur.

Can't ever make an actual decision.

I have been watching MercoSur since its birth. It remains still-born.

    Sad really.

oh well, at least the Pacific Alliance is strengthening, maybe some hope for Lat AM.

Brazil is shackled to Argentina and can't escape.

And of course Brasileiro was amazed after reading something. He's lack of education and life experience isn't exactly hidden.

As for Mexico's financial crisis..... it is serious? I'm here and can't see it.

Hardly surprising when you consider the following:

    Growth:
    Brazil -0.2%
    Mexico 2.2%

    Inflation:
    Brazil 7.14%
    Mexico 3.07%

    Government debt:
    Brazil 56.8%
    Mexico 36.9%

    Unemployment:
    Brazil 4.3%
    Mexico 3.76%

    Trade:
    Brazil US$3.2 billion deficit
    Mexico US$254 million surplus

    Export value:
    Brazil US$13.7 billion
    Mexico US$34.1 billion

    10 year government bond rate:
    Brazil 12.82%
    Mexico 5.75%

    GDP per capita:
    Brazil US$5,823
    Mexico US$8,519

    GDP per capita (PPP):
    Brazil $14,555
    Mexico $16,291

Mexico blows Brazil out of the water.

Mexico has higher/larger growth, exports and income than Brazil.
Mexico has lower/less inflation, debt, unemployment and bond rates than Brazil.

Brazil and Mexico are starting to move in different leagues. Mexico is an open and vibrant economy engaged with the world. Brazil is an inward looking dysfunctional giant that is chained to a psycho girlfriend named Argentina.

Oh and Brazil even has a higher murder rate than Mexico.

I hear Brazil might be renamed EAST ARGENTINA!

Chicureo.....Argentina is ripe for the picking. Just think of how productive Chile could make the available resources they could have at Chile's disposable.....not to mention pacific AND Atlantic ports. What could ever possibly stop Chile if they hypothetically choose that course of action?

We don't want it. Granted Patagonia is rightfully ours, but the thought of mixing our people with a race of kleptomania is not worth it.
    We would like Bariloche however...

    They're both doomed.

@11. What a prick! Always good to note the data put out by Lulu the Arse of Corruption. Just a few minutes research proves Lulu to be as bent as a boomerang or one of the biggest pricks the world has ever seen. Let's not forget that Lulu claimed that he didn't know anything about anything. And yet he 'knew' enough to refuse the extradition of a known Italian terrorist and murderer. The murdering terrorist was released in 2011. Supposedly still in Brazil, in the town of Embu das Artes. How many has he killed in Brazil? Does it matter? Brazilians love killing. Shouldn't Brazil be walled off from the rest of the world? Brazilians refused permission to travel outside their zoo. Let's not forget. Brasileiro comments. How many has he murdered? In 2006, nearly 50,000 people were murdered. For every murder there are at least 4,000 suspects. Brasileiro is a murder suspect. Who would pay any attention to an ignorant, brainwashed murder suspect?

@15 The Western not believe in Brazil, as well as the South Americans do not believe in Western.
I personally am in favor of prohibition of trade and diplomatic relations with the West.
My dad always tells me that someday we may need the Westerners. Or sometime Westerners may need us.

I respect the will of my father.

Difficulties in the Mercosur just remind us that we have something called Mercosur.
It's never smooth sailing to get a group of countries to agree on trade. Or were--are--the construction of the European Union or the North America Free Trade Agreement bump-free enterprises?
Of course a bunch of wisemen around here are lecturing us on why poor, ignorant, greedy, hot-blooded and permanently under developed Latinos cannot succeed at anything.
“Brazilians love killing,” informs us Conqueror at #15 among other delirious concepts.
    How sad.

What is your opinion of Venezuela being a full member of MercorSur?

Seriously, I am not looking for a fight. What do you think about this?

Well, that's Embraer down the tubes. They may be able to build gliders without western technology....from where will you get your engines, flight control systems, materials etc.
I don't think any modern country can survive and go forward without input of ideas, materials and technology from elsewhere in the world.

Good luck to you if your country fulfills your wishes. Have a look at N.Korea.
A closed country but they still steal technology from others.

And don't tell lies....you have no idea who your father is....you were probably hatched or found under a rock.
